Esther Duflo: Women 'extremely effective leaders'
When given the opportunity women are extremely effective leaders, the economics Nobel Prize winner Esther Duflo has said.
She told Hardtalk's Shaun Ley that without quotas, women were rarely elected as leaders but "once they are in power, they actually run the show and are very powerful".
She said her research into poverty, the role of women and her prize has put development economics back on the map.
