Danielle speaks to Alika, who was sectioned twice in his early 20s. Alika describes the experience of being detained by the police, something that he found both scary and humiliating. They discuss how the way you’re treated during a detention makes a big difference to your mental state.
Danielle decides to meet the professionals who are often on the scene when somebody is sectioned. She talks with Kevin Stone, an Approved Mental Health Professional and hears from David Vass, a police constable working on the mental health triage team in Hertfordshire.
