Sindika Dokolo's latest exhibition brings together classical and modern African art
Should African Art belong in Africa? Who gets to portray Africa in art? And what are the myths that most need to be exploded?
These are some questions being asked in the most recent venture by Sindika Dokolo - a prolific collector of contemporary African art, whose personal collection includes more than 3000 pieces.
His exhibition - 'InCarNations' - has been on display in Brussels, Belgium. It intentionally brings together classical and modern pieces in one space.
Sindika Dokolo, who is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, is now married to Africa's richest woman, the daughter of the former Angolan President JosΓ© Eduardo dos Santos.
Sindika Dokolo told Newsday's Bola Mosuro about the exhibition.
