Migrants from Libyan detention centres arrive in Rwanda

Nearly 70 migrants who have been stuck in detention centers in Libya have arrived in Rwanda overnight. They are the first of 500 who will be settled there after their plans to go to Europe failed. The UN refugee agency - UNHCR - says many of this first wave are unaccompanied children and vulnerable people.

'Many of them were held in detention centres in Libya where they faced awful conditions and human rights abuses for months if not years' Charlie Yaxley from UNHCR told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Newsday's Ben James .
