Greenland's melting ice sheet
Scientists are warning that the massive ice sheet covering Greenland may have melted by a record amount this year due to rising temperatures. The ice sheet is seven times the area of the UK. In the last year alone it may have lost enough ice to raise the average sea level around the globe by more than a millimetre.
