Church leaders denounce deteriorating human rights in Zimbabwe

Church leaders in Zimbabwe have written to President Emmerson Mnangagwa to denounce what they call the deteriorating human rights situation in the country. The letter refers to at least 20 recent abductions and says that none of them have been successfully investigated. Reverend Dr Kenneth Mtata, general secretary of the Zimbabwe Council of Churches says that "There have not been any prosecutions and we were worried that it is becoming normal". The council are proposing an inclusive national dialogue to resolve these and other problems.
