Tougher animal cruelty sentences coming
People found guilty of the worst cases of animal cruelty will face up to five years in prison, under a new law proposed for England and Wales.
The move has won cross-party backing from MPs but in the first debate on the plan some argued that the change was long over-due. Simon Jones reports.
