Is ending the Second World War the last century's most important event?

The Hilton Hotel group has been marking 100 years since it was founded by asking thousands of guests what were the key historic events over that time.

The end of the Second World War came top of the survey, along with advances in healthcare like organ transplants and the development of penicillin, as well as man landing on the Moon.

Hilton has also been recalling its own industry innovations, such as putting televisions in every room or using a computer to process bookings.

The president of the group's operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Simon Vincent, told the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Russell Padmore what the hotel chain learned from how its customers see history.
