Can we survive another pandemic?
Pandemics are a serious risk to our economic and political systems, says Lalitha Sundaram, a senior research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER). Pandemics are predicted to occur three times every 100 years and we are overdue. Modern day technologies could contribute to the potential spread of a deadly virus, mainly through our globalised transport systems.
