German MEP: Why the EU wonβt make deal changes
A German member of the European Parliament has said that a βlack of trustβ between the EU and the UK means any clarification on the withdrawal agreement is βa problemβ.
Asked by 5 Liveβs Anna Foster why the EU would not make changes to the deal, German MEP Gabriele Zimmer said it was because βthe majority of members of the House of Commons would not be interestedβ.
βTheyβve decided before that they [donβt want] to accept the withdrawal agreement β so what should we offer again? It was not possible to get a common agreement,β she said.
