Secrets of an Audiologist
Louise Nash is a final year audiology student at Glasgow Caledonian University.
She works in a clinic in Lanarkshire, helping people of all ages with their hearing. She tests their ears and if they need hearing aids, she’s able to find just the right one for them.
She says the best thing about her job is when she gives someone a new hearing aid and they can suddenly hear all the sounds around them. It makes them – and her - really happy!
She says three things you need to be an audiologist are:
- enjoy helping people
- a clear voice, as many of the people you’ll meet have hearing difficulties
- an interest in science and technology, because hearing aids are very technical.
