Royals midfielder Lewis Baker says a certain team-mate needs to keep his promise.

Baker says he's been trying to get John Swift to take him for dinner since their days in the Chelsea academy.

"There were a lot of times in the youth team days where we'd see who scored the most goals," Baker told 麻豆约拍 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "I think I just scraped that one as well so he still owes me dinner.

"Anywhere will do, just somewhere, it's been a few years now."

And Baker says he feels the Reading squad he joined in January has the ability to pull clear of the relegation zone and to safety come the end of the season.

"I think the way we want to play and the way we can play, if we keep that, and we keep trying to score goals, and we keep out the goals, it's a squad that's got the ability to do that."
