Secrets of a Marine Biologist
Mairi Fenton is a marine biologist with Scottish Natural Heritage in Inverness. Her job is all about looking after the fish, plants and other organisms that live in the waters in and around Scotland. Her favourite part of the work is going diving, but she also spends time writing reports about what she’s found underwater, and passing on the information to other people in her team.
She says three things you need to be a marine biologist are:
- a love of the sea and nature
- a sense of adventure
- a stomach that doesn’t get too seasick!
Could this be the job for you?
