Cancer survivor ‘pays back’ the hospital that treated him

Andrew Davies was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in 2012. After finding out his care at Sheffield Children's hospital cost £150,000, he decided to raise that amount through fundraising.

Speaking to 5 Live Breakfast, Andrew said: "[The idea] was to really give back to the hospital and help provide them with some of the extra facilities they need to make sure the standard of care stays so high."

Andrew said that the money raised will be split between leukaemia research and a charity appeal to transform the specialist ward that treated him.
