US jewellery firm Stella & Dot is exiting the European market after being hit by declines in the value of the pound and euro.

Set up in 2003, Stella & Dot staff buy their own stock, and try to sell it on through their social networks. The firm focuses its recruitment on mothers looking for flexible work, with taglines such as 鈥渂e your own boss鈥� and 鈥渏oin a community of strong and supportive women鈥�.

Mhari Oakes from Cheshire in the UK has been with Stella & Dot for seven years and explained the perks of so-called social selling.
