Kidderminster's Andy Grimwood started singing in 2012, while at college, performing at gigs and on the streets.

He then started uploading renditions of chart tracks on social media, which led to more appreciation for his work.
Ìý
Andy was born in Nigeria and says: "There are so many musicians from my cultural heritage that have influenced me today".

Other artists he's listening to include Drake, Ty Dolla $ign, Frank Ocean and Chris Brown.

Youth Music Showcase

Music in the Hall, at St Georges Hall in Bewdley, opened its 2019 season last night with its annual Youth Music Showcase featuring some incredible talent from the Wyre Forest.

The evening was jointly promoted with Bewdley Youth Festival with many of the artists going on to play at HopFest in June.Ìý

Musicians' Masterclass

In the '90s, we had Britpop and Old Skool. The '00s saw the rise of pop/punk, trance, RnB and Hip Hop. So far, in the 2010s, we've had dubstep, trap, grime and deep house. But where is music heading next - and more importantly, why is 'good' music being lost to fashion?

This week's panel discussion is led by Bobby Friction of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Asian Network, who says fashion even affects culture.

This month's sessions come from Gordon Bennett's, in Hereford, which has been championing bands since being taken over by Robert Bennett in May 2016.

The venue has been hosting free music nights every Friday and Saturday, from 9pm, showcasing the best local talent.

Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Introducing in Kidderminster

Our next recording session will take place on Sunday, 27 January at Kidderminster College.

The venue, which has made a name for itself as being the national HQ of the government-funded MAS Records scheme, is supported by Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs) and Karl Hyde (Underworld).

We'll be bringing along handpicked musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire to record their live sessions for broadcast.
