In 2017 Helen's younger sister Louise- Becky's mum- went to the doctors with a pain in her side and was sent to A&E where it was discovered she had bowel cancer that had spread to her liver. She started chemotherapy but the doctors warned her and the family that if she wanted to do things, now was the time. Her condition deteriorated quickly - in the October her liver stopped working and she only lasted a few days. She died at home with the family and Helen around her. Becky is the middle child with an older brother and younger sister. Helen asked to take part as she had wished to record a Listening Project conversation with Louise but ran out of time. They came to together to discuss the night Louise died and the months since. As Helen put it "We've never done grief before. Not like this. We're still learning what 'grief' means, and that's something worth talking about."
