Sophie's story
Erica and Sophie were born 16 weeks premature and are now 12. Erica weighed one pound nine and Sophie just one pound six. The twins spent the first 5 months of their life in hospital. βFor the first couple of months we werenβt really allowed to touch them. They were just on the edge of survivingβ Craig, dad says. Sophie needs a lot of care which is predominantly related to cerebral palsy that caused brain damage. Youngest sister Kyla says, βOur home is quite busy and manicβ¦ itβs probably hard for mum and dad having to look after all of us.β Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People enable the family to spend quality time all together. Itβs such a special place where memories are made and the most amount of fun can happen.
