American journalist Patricia Raybon had raised her daughter, Alana, to be a Christian - but the pair grew distant when Alana decided to convert to Islam.

Mother and daughter conflicted over verses from the Bible and the Koran and couldn't seem to find any common ground. That's when Patricia suggested they write a book together to work out their problems.
