A shipwreck on the Firth of Clyde

For more than 40 years, the "Sugar Boat" has been an unlikely local landmark.

The Greek merchant vessel was destined for Greenock on the night of 27 January 1974 when fierce winds battered the west coast.

MV Captayannis was holed by another ship's anchor chain and never sailed again.
