Climate report: Human cost is 'too shocking to imagine'
A major UN report on climate change says the planet is facing a catastrophe unless we dramatically alter the way we live.
The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change says huge changes are needed to energy consumption, travel, building methods, and the food we eat. It will be hugely expensive - the report estimates we will need to spend 2.5% of global GDP every year for two decades.
Dr Ruth Valerio, director of global advocacy and influencing at Tearfund, a UK Christian relief and development agency, says the poor will suffer the most if action is not taken.
