The One with What the Podcast is All About
An extended preview of what to expect from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's first-ever LGBT Sport Podcast.
The LGBT Sport Podcast is the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's first programme, looking at LGBTQ+ individuals, groups and organisations in sport. The aim is to tell interesting stories from interesting people, and show that sport is a place where everyone belongs.
It grew out of a show called 'The Other Side', which was presented by Jack Murley. And to get you in the mood for what this podcast is all about, this episode features some of the guests from the old show. So, in this episode, you'll hear from ...
- Lord Hayward, a founder of the Kings Cross Steelers.
- Vicki Carter from Out To Swim.
- Ben Owen, the President of International Gay Rugby, on the origins of the Bingham Cup.
- Ryan Atkin, the UK's first openly gay male football referee.
- Liz Carmouche on being an MMA pioneer.
- Matthew Mitcham on the Beijing Olympics and coming out.
- Racing driver Charlie Martin on Le Mans and her transition.
- Alison Perkins on being the PGA's first transgender golf pro.
Like what you hear? Why not subscribe and get future episodes of the LGBT Sport Podcast as soon as they're released, and review the show so more people can hear it. Or you could share it on social media, so more people can find out about the programme.
