Transplant patient asks donorβs dad to walk her down the aisle
Lisa Simkin, from Nottingham, underwent a life-saving lung transplant in 2013. Her donor was 33-year-old Rhona, who had died of a brain haemorrhage days after giving birth to her second child.
Six months after the transplant, Lisa wrote a letter to Rhonaβs family βto say thank youβ.
She says the family βopened their door with loving armsβ and she now feels part of their family.
Rhonaβs dad John even walked Lisa down the aisle at her wedding.
Lisa told Radio 5 Live she feels like sheβs known them all her life: βItβs a very surreal feeling.β
