The Kelly Ingram Park in Birmingham, Alabama was once at the heart of the city’s fight for civil rights.

Once used for large-scale demonstrations and marches, the park is now filled with sculpture commemorating those who devoted their lives to fighting for social justice.

We spoke to artist and sculptor, Elizabeth MacQueen, who created ‘Four Spirits’ - a memorial to four young girls who were killed in 1963 by members of the the Ku Klux Klan in the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church.
