Long distance truck drivers in America are an ageing work force. The average age is around 55 years old. This has prompted a push for a lowering of the minimum age to get a Commercial Driver's License, or CDL, from 21 to 18 to boost numbers. But that draft legislation, known as the Drive-SAFE Act, is opposed by the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association. Norita Taylor, Director of Public Relations for the organisation explains why.
