Parenting: Prepping for University

How can parents best prepare their child for going to university or college and leaving home for the first time?

As summer draws to a close, the exam results come in and the current generation of 18-year olds plan to leave home for college or university, there’s lots to sort out. Where will you live? What will you live on? How easy will it be to remember how your parents made a spaghetti bolognese without having to phone home for the recipe? Jenni speaks to Iona Bain, a financial journalist, Charlotte Pike, a chef, Mel Onovo will begin her degree course at Oxford University and Rita Chowdry who has a daughter who’ll soon be off to Bath.
