Will the DVLA urging people to re-take their eye tests work?

Drivers are being urged to retake their eye test by the DVLA, after a survey suggested half of motorists are not aware of the minimum standard required to hold a licence. You must be able to read a number plate from 20 metres away (about 5 car lengths ) and it's a legal requirement that you regularly self-test. If you don't pass the test, the DVLA want you to visit an optician.

On Good Morning Wales, Oliver Hides spoke to Reverend Brenda Gutberlet, who explained how her niece Natalie was killed by a visually impaired man - with only one working eye - who drove through a red light at a pedestrian crossing.
