ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Minute: On Israel's Jewish nation state bill

Israel’s Knesset parliament has voted to pass the controversial so-called Jewish nation state bill – which defines the country as an exclusively Jewish state. It downgrades Arabic from official language status, and claims the β€œwhole and united” city of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the passage of the bill as a β€œdefining moment”, but Arab members of the Knesset ripped up copies of it in protest after the vote – with one calling the legislation β€œa law of Jewish supremacy”.
