ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Minute: On Israel's Jewish nation state bill
Israelβs Knesset parliament has voted to pass the controversial so-called Jewish nation state bill β which defines the country as an exclusively Jewish state. It downgrades Arabic from official language status, and claims the βwhole and unitedβ city of Jerusalem as Israelβs capital.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the passage of the bill as a βdefining momentβ, but Arab members of the Knesset ripped up copies of it in protest after the vote β with one calling the legislation βa law of Jewish supremacyβ.
