RAF 100: Geoffrey Wellum’s time in the air
The Royal Air Force celebrates its centenary today. To mark the occasion there will be a service at Westminster Abbey and a huge flypast over Buckingham Palace. Up to a hundred aircraft - past and present - will take part in one of the biggest aerial displays ever seen over the capital. Geoffrey Wellum, originally from Walthamstow, was the youngest Spitfire pilot in the Battle of Britain. Now in his nineties, he's been recalling his time in the air during World War II.
