Mental health and crime
It's estimated that a third of those arrested by police in England -- are suffering from mental health illness. Efforts are now being made to change the way the criminal justice system treats mental illness with most police forces now having mental health nurses working with them to assess those they detain. Our correspondent Jeremy Cooke has been given exclusive access to see this process in action at the central custody cells of Nottinghamshire Police.
