'Denman was everything you want in a race horse' - jockey Sam Thomas
"It's amazing when you've got a horse that wants to win as much as you", says jockey Sam Thomas - the man who rode Denman to Gold Cup glory at Cheltenham in 2008.
"He did a demolition job that day. He was certainly the best in his era," he added.
Nicknamed 'The Tank', Denman also won two Hennessy Gold Cups before being retired in 2011. He was put to sleep on Wednesday, aged 18.
