PMQs: Bad politics or democracy at its best?
From Tony Blair's description of John Major's premiership as "weak, weak, weak" to David Cameron's controversial advice for Angela Eagle to "calm down, dear", Prime Minister's Question's has provided some of the most dramatic moments in the House of Commons. Ahead of the publication of a new book, 'Punch & Judy Politics: An Insiders' Guide to Prime Minister’s Questions', The Westminster Hour has spoken to co-author and former Labour adviser Ayesha Hazarika. She told John Beesley: "If you sanitised it, it would completely change the nature of it. It would make it easier for the politicians and we don't want to have a completely silent parliament like one would imagine in Pyongyang or Beijing. And anything that our political leaders fear so much and hate so much is well worth keeping for democracy."
