1981: Diana Spencer - 'The dress came first, and just went on and on and on'
Designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel wanted to give the public 'something they would never forget'.
When Diana stepped down from the carriage, they noticed how creased the dress looked. Elizabeth has since come to terms with this, and describes Diana looking like a 'butterfly emerging from a cacoon'.
