Royals defender Chris Gunter is hoping to end the season on a high after a tricky year.

Reading face Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich, and Cardiff in their final three games of the season looking to secure their league status.

"We know as a squad it hasn't been the greatest season to be a fan," Gunter told 麻豆约拍 Radio Berkshire's Jack Winstanley. "Fans sometimes think they're more disappointed than the players. It's not always the case.

"Hopefully we can finish off the season off well, thank them, and give them a lot better next season."

And Gunter knows how tough a test Sheffield Wednesday will pose in their next game.

"It's a tough place to go, it always is when you go to Sheffield Wednesday.

"Hopefully with our need for the points and our effort... that will be enough to get us the points."
