What is Rwanda's 'Next Einstein Forum'?
"The future of Africa lies not in the resources underneath the continent's ground, but in the minds of the people." That was the sentiment of the recent Next Einstein Forum, a gathering in Rwanda that aimed to lay plans for Africa's knowledge-based economies.
Providing young people with the scientific and mathematical skills, they say, is critical. The next game-changing technologies could well come from Africa.
The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Lerato Mbele sat down with the force behind the Next Einstein Forum, President and Chief Executive of the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences Thierry Zomahoun, and asked him what needs to happen for the next Einstein to be an African.
