When Hurricane Sandy hit New York in 2012, the floodwater destroyed all the possessions in her basement. Instead of lamenting these losses, Laurie embraced this unexpected minimalism and now consciously carries the memories in her head. And, for Laurie, these stories are as powerful as something tangible.
