Is cultural appropriation about an exchange of culture, or is it the politics of power?

British author Afua Hirsch is half-Ghanaian and half-English. She's written a book about identity and race. She tells us that in an unequal society, sampling other cultures perpetuates the legacy of historic exploitation.
