One in every 10 women will suffer from postnatal depression within a year of giving birth, according to the NHS. A new study has found that the quality of the relationship between mother and child can be affected into adult life and even have a knock-on influence on the quality of relationship between grandmothers and grandchildren. Dr Sarah Myers who carried out the study, Frances Masters who had postnatal depression after her second child and is now a grandmother and Dr Trudi Seneviratne Chair of the Perinatal Psychiatry faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists join Jane to discuss PND.
