SUNDAY GARDENING EVENTS
SUNDAY 18th MARCH
The South East Orchid Society invite you to Orchid Spring Show.
You can see Orchids from the every day to the truly Exotic.
We will show visitors how to repot their orchids.
Experts will answer any question that arises.
Orchid enthusiasts can showcase their orchids and compete in our show for many prizes in different categories.
Laurence Hobbs Orchids will have a trade stand where beautiful orchids can be purchased.
Give it a go at our Tombola and buy Greeting cards at a stall by FloriferousGarden.
Refreshments are available at the show and there is parking space outside.
The Show will be open to the public from 1pm to 4pm and takes place at Ashford Rail Staff Club, Beaver Road, in Ashford.
TUESDAY 20th March
Ashford Flower Club is hosting a floral art demonstration by Robin White, entitled 'The Link is Green' . It will take place at Furley Hall, Maidstone Road,Ashford TN24 8TX, starting at 7.30pm.
All demonstrated arrangements will be raffled at the end of the evening. You could be one of the winners, so come along and join us - visitors Β£4.00 at the door.
It's Spring Show time for Herne Horticultural & Rose Society from 7.30pm - they meet at Herne Institute Hall on Canterbury Road and it's open to members and non-members. Classes include daffodils, spring flowers, handicrafts, cookery and floral arrangements.
WEDNESDAY 21st MARCH
Faversham Horticultural Society meet at 7.30 in the evening at the Age UK Centre, Middle Row, Faversham. Philip Johnson gives a talk on 'Easy to Grow Alpines' including a container planting demonstration.
There's a talk on Mediterranean Plants for Kent by William Friend at Tyler Hill Gardening Society. They meet at 7.30pm in Tyler Hill Memorial Hall.
Minster and Monkton Horticultural Society meet in the Village Hall at Minster in Thanet, Janine Doulton gives a talk on "Gardening in the Shade" Starting at 7.30pm
THURSDAY 22nd MARCH
Maidstone Horticultural Society reschedule their talk, "Bee keeping and encouraging bees in the garden" by Derek March which was cancelled on the 1st March due to the snowy weather, has been rescheduled for Thursday 22nd March. The venue is the Baptist Church Hall, Knightrider Street at 7.30 pm with tea/coffee served during the interval. So if you would like to know more about these delightful insects and which plants to grow to entice them into your garden, you will be very welcome. Visitors Β£2.00
The North Tonbridge Flower Arrangers will be holding their March 2018 meeting in The Medway Hall, The Angel Centre, Tonbridge. They'll be starting at the slightly earlier time of 7:00 for a 7:30 start and are absolutely delighted to be welcoming the fantastic flower demonstrator, Helen Hare, who is well-known in the floral world in Kent.
They're certain to see exciting and dramatic flower arrangements, shown from new perspectives, as Helen creates her "East to West" flower designs. So do come along, for a new take on flowers and fun - an evening not to be missed! Don't forget there will be raffle tickets for purchase and the lucky winners will take home Helen's wonderful flower arrangements, to the envy of all. We will also have our excellent sales table with lots of irresistible floristry items, as always, at very competitive prices, so you can replicate Helen's designs, or just "do your own thing" in the privacy of your own home and amaze your friends and family. Don't forget, there will be delicious cake and a refreshing cup of tea or coffee to enjoy while catching up with friends new and old!
Visitors are very welcome; we are all very friendly and would love to meet and introduce new members to our fantastic club. The entrance fee is only Β£7.00 - really amazing value for a great evening out!
SATURDAY 24th MARCH
It's the RHODES MINNIS SPRING FLOWER SHOW at 2.30pm AT RHODES MINNIS VILLAGE HALL, CHAPEL LANE, CT4 6XR.
It's a FREE ENTRY, RAFFLE, REFRESHMENTS
The Staplehurst Horticultural Society are holding their 'Spring Show' in the North Hall of the Village Centre at 2pm.
There will be refreshments, a raffle and prize giving for the show entries.
Hadlow Gardeners Society hold their Spring Show in the Village Hall from 2pm.
There's another Spring Show! Hildenbororough Garden Society meet from 2.30 in the afternoon.
Charing Gardeners Society hold their Spring Show at the Parish Hall, Station Road in Charing.
Exhibits are staged from 9am - 11.15am and open to the public at 2.pm. Entrance is free.
Please come along and see a wonderful display of Spring flowers, vegetables, plants, cookery and handicrafts and enjoy some delicious refreshments. Raffle, plant sales, seedswap and gardening advise.
OTFORD GARDENERS' SOCIETY have their Spring Show featuring spring bulbs and early flowers as well as flower arrangements, cookery & photography classes. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔmade teas are available from 2.15 until 4pm.
