Spilling the beans on Commons catering

The chair of the Administration Committee which oversees the running of the House of Commons has told the Westminster Hour that Parliament's food has "come on light years" in recent times. Sir Paul Beresford, who has overseen the opening up of some Commons dining rooms to the public, said food in the Palace of Westminster ranges from "a pack of chips and a glass of water right the way through to really class fine dining". He told John Beesley he hopes the restaurants can be become self-financing, which he said would provide "an opportunity for the public to use what is a public building".
