Two Conservative ministers are at odds over how the Government should negotiate terms of the customs union after Brexit.

Leave campaigner Bernard Jenkin MP said he thinks it would be "perverse" to impose checks on the Irish border after Brexit. Kenneth Clarke says we should promptly sign up to an open border with regulatory convergence.

The cabinet's Brexit committee is meeting to discuss what Britain's future relationship with the EU should look like - focusing today on Northern Ireland and immigration.
