Composer Lucy Pankhurst and writer/activist Helen Pankhurst are the creative forces behind The Pankhurst Anthem, a choral work commissioned by 麻豆约拍 Radio 3 to mark the centenary of women's suffrage in the UK. Both are relatives of the famous suffragette, Emmeline Pankhurst.

In this video, Lucy and Helen explain the structure and meaning of The Pankhurst Anthem, and explain how they were inspired by Emmeline's words. This is a must-see for anyone thinking of performing the piece in 2018.
