'Rations are 5kg of sugar per month'
Ethiopia is facing a chronic sugar shortage which has led to violent and lethal protests. The country's sugar corporation blames the scarcity on bad weather in the country's sugar-growing areas and the government says it will import sugar from Algeria and Thailand to help alleviate the situation.
