Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Minute: On Hugh Masekela

Hugh Masekela was a legendary jazz trumpeter and leading figure in the struggle to end apartheid in South Africa.

He died aged 78. His family said he "passed peacefully" after a "protracted and courageous battle with prostate cancer".

Masekela was admired globally with his distinctive Afro-Jazz sound and was an inspiration to many, including our South Africa correpsondent Milton Nkosi. Milton tells us why Masekela became such an icon.
