Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Minute: On Facebook and its effect on us

A former Facebook boss said he does not let his children use the social network. Chamath Palihapitiya, the former vice-president of user growth, explained that "he created tools ripping apart the social fabric of how society works". He recommended people take a "hard break" from social media. Palihapitiya did also say that the company "overwhelmingly does positive good in the world". His comments were first made at a Stanford Business School event in November but have only recently been reported. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's technology reporter Zoe Kleinman briefly goes over the debate about social media networks and their effects on us.
