Meet Me On The Bridge

Kati was abandoned in China when she was a baby. She was adopted by Americans and later discovered her birth parents had left a note saying where to meet them in 20 years' time.

Kati Pohler was three days old when her parents wrapped her up, kissed her goodbye and left her in a market in China, hoping that someone would take her in. They already had a daughter, and the country's one-child police meant they weren't allowed another baby. Heartbroken that they couldn't keep their second child, they pinned a note to her blanket, saying that they would wait for her on Hangzhou's famous Broken Bridge on 7 July 10 years later, and again in 20 years' time.

But Kati was adopted by an American couple and grew up on the other side of the world, knowing nothing about the letter or her parents wish to see her again.

Kati’s adoptive parents only told her about it when she turned 20. By then her birth parents' story had become front-page news in China, as they tried to find her.

Kati decides it's time to visit the Broken Bridge and meet her biological parents.
