Ambassador Regev: 'Jerusalem was Israel's capital before 1967'

US President Donald Trump has recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital, overturning decades of official US policy. He described his decision as "a long overdue step" to advance the Middle East peace process. But Mr Trump's move has drawn sharp criticism from around the world. Here in London, Israel's ambassador to Britain, Mark Regev, told Newsday's Julian Keane why his government believes that President Trump's decision is a step towards peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
