Everton fan: British managers 'seem afraid' of going abroad
Everton fan Rudi told Kelly Cates & Ian Wright domestic managers must experience football on the continent.
Speaking to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 606, he said: "I know David Moyes was at (Real) Sociedad, but there’s not enough in my opinion of English, British managers going over there and taking a chance to prove themselves in European competitions before they get the big ones.
"Moyes at United, Rodgers at Liverpool, they’ve gone straight from the kind of mid level team to one of the big teams and they just don’t have the skills – they haven’t proven themselves beforehand," he added.
The Toffees appointed 63-year-old former England boss Sam Allardyce on a deal until June 2019 to become the permanent successor to Ronald Koeman, who was sacked in October with the club 18th in the Premier League.
