'If you complain, you lose work': sexual harassment in classical music

Music Matters hears from a freelance orchestral musician who has experienced sexual harassment, and from Deborah Annetts, Chief Executive of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, who explains how classical music’s freelance culture can keep victims of sexual harassment from speaking out.

The testimony we hear at the beginning of this clip is read by an actor, and the graphic detail of some of her words has been changed. The image shown is of a model.

This is a clip from a wider investigation into sexual harassment and discrimination in the classical music industry. Hear more by clicking through to the full episode of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3 Music Matters.
