Head-to-body transplants are 'imminent'
Professor Sergio Canavero of the Turin Advanced Neuro-modulation Group says head-to-body transplants on live patients are "imminent".
It comes after a team led by a Chinese neurosurgeon performed the first head transplant using human cadavers.
He told 5 live's Stephen Nolan surgeons would carry out the operation "over two days" by using a technique called "cross-circulation", although this has been met with scepticism across the scientific community.
This clip is originally from Stephen Nolan on Saturday 18 November 2017.
